What I've been up to...

Yes, it's been a tough week. We packed up the car, started out at 5:30 a.m. and got outside Knoxville. The next day we arrived in Hilton Head! It's been two years since I've been to the beach that I grew up visiting, since the age of 8, and the place my mother chose to live out her remaining days. This year we were able to be four houses from the beach which was fabulous. We enjoyed the time spent with my step-daughter and her husband, but most especially the grand-babies, Ella 6 and Julian 2. What fun we had! We visited the beach daily, went to South Beach (Salty Dog), Harbor Town (Melon Coladas!!!), the petting zoo, and sitting by the pool reading my book. The last night we went "ghost crabbing" which is what my dad took us out to do when we were little. You go to the beach after dark, shine your flashlights on the shore looking for the little white crabs, and then you chase them with your net and try not to scream like a baby when they run toward you! It was a blast. As was reported to me by his mother, as Julian arrived home he said to his mother "no! go back to beach house!" Julian, I'm with you baby!
