Pet Peeves

I’m not sure exactly what’s got me thinking of pet peeves, but I am finding that the older I get the longer my list. Or maybe it’s just that I’m much less tolerant of things that bug me. So, here’s my list, what’s on yours?

  • The cashier at the grocery store, the Target, TJ Maxx etc. who puts your items in the bag and never hands it to you, just leaves it there for you to lean over and pick up.
  • The same cashier that doesn’t give you the total, instead makes you look at the cash register to get your total.
  • People who talk behind your back.
  • Reality Shows
  • A friend who then hooks up with a new group and suddenly isn’t your friend.
  • Spiders, box elder bugs, earwigs that get in my house and in my space. (I know there’s always a spider near you, but a spider had best not be near me!)
  • The toilet that runs on and on and the husband who says he’ll fix it.
  • People who say “like” in nearly every sentence they speak, if it is a full sentence that is.
  • Neighbors who mow the lawn on an early Sunday morning while some people are trying to have some quiet space.
  • People who say they work so very hard yet take 1.5 hour lunches, every day.
  • People who don’t let you merge even though you have the right-of-way.
  • People who always have to top your story. (I had this really bad tooth ache, “well, I’ve got that beat, I had a tooth pulled&rdquoWinking You know someone like this I’m sure.
  • I really try very very hard to avoid Walmart, but when I’m there, why is it that I’m surrounded by people who are mean to their children and want to smack them or yell at them in front of me!

that’s it for now people! Tomorrow I’ll talk about Things I like!

Pumpkin Party

Each year my dear friend Claudia and her husband David throw a wonderful pumpkin carving party. This year I will be hosting the party. The kids will be here from out of town and we will go to the pumpkin patch and watch pig races, do a corn maze, and go to a local carnival. (the carnivals in the midwest are not like they are down south) My step-daughter Christy has been highly anticipating the cooler fall weather and seeing the leaves change. (again, just not the same down south) So, I’m off work today and tomorrow trying to get the place ready. The spare bedroom is a mess, I would like to straighten the basement so Kenny can play some darts, and I need to sweep the deck, clean the bathrooms etc. lot’s to do. I just wanted to have one day to sleep in just a little bit, but with two kittens that just doesn’t happen. Although I have a six year old and a nearly two year old descending on the house too, so won’t be sleeping in those days either! I hope everyone has a good week!
