This weekend my friend Teal is coming in to town from the UP (providing the weather holds) and she's "adopting" two 7 year old cats that belong to her brother Seems he had to move and can't have the cats in the apartment. And although she doesn't need another couple cats it's going to be nice to see her. We will go to her brother's old place and pick up the old cats and then have a little chance to catch up. Looking forward to it. Will photograph the event! For now my cat Punky is sitting on my chair asking me to join her and I'm going to do just that. Take it easy!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas (if you don't see the picture, scroll down)

I'm very proud of my husband, he's so talented not only with his music, but he also penned this picture of the Little Tiny Tim and his sister and dad from Scrooge (the musical version). He drew it in 1974 (ok I was 12) and honestly, it really looks like the characters in the movie. We watched the movie together when we were dating, and I had never ever seen the musical version of this movie. Honestly I was thinking: "what am I getting in to here, a musical Scrooge?", but about a quarter way through I was done for. Dennis got me with this movie. There's a scene where Scrooge is with the ghost of Christmas Past and he's watching his old fiance and their life together before money became his love. He's longing for her and they are both singing different songs she is dancing with the younger Ebenezer and he's up with the ghost missing her and singing a complementary song. I had to ask Dennis to pause the movie because I was crying so hard. I remember saying "he loves her so much!" and how painful it was to watch him watch her. (at the time we were only dating and we both wanted to be together and we both had things we were resolving)

And with this our tradition of watching Christmas movies began. What starts with the original Miracle on 34th Street on Thanksgiving (black and white all the way) and ending with It's a Wonderful Life on New Year's Eve. In between we have the original Grinch, Christmas in Connecticut, Prancer (makes me cry), White Christmas, Elf, all the Santa Clause movies, Christmas with Red Skelton, Holiday Inn, Joyeux Noel, and The Bishops Wife (another favorite, Cary Grant is just yummy). Just to name a few! Merry Christmas, grab a DVD & have fun!

Open mouth insert foot...

Ever say something to someone, innocently let me add, that you regret? The other day I asked a woman (an acquaintance) if she was pregnant. Now let me say, she has all the tell-tale signs, some weight right in the abdomen, a bit puffy in the face. Seriously she was wearing a sweater with horizontal stripes and I'm telling you, she looked pregnant. Well, I made quite the mistake and opened my big mouth and stuck my foot right on in it! As I asked her, she said she was not pregnant, but then asked me "so are you saying I look fat?" Seriously, what does one do at that point? I tried to gracefully get out of it, but it was already done, nothing I could do to gracefully get out of that one. Am I sorry? Absolutely, without doubt. Rumor has it, she's mad at me. I've apologized twice, don't really think there's much more I can really do, the words came out, can't put them back in now can I? I'll sure tell you, I'll never, ever ask another dumb question like that again! If anyone asks me my opinion about someone being pregnant, I'm zipping my mouth! Nothing coming from me!
Have we not all done something we regret? We are only human after all. (I should have used this picture as a sign...don't ask!)

Have a good week everyone!
