If only...

We went to the Geneva (IL) Concours d'Elegance yesterday. It was such a nice day and although I really wasn't looking forward to going out for the entire day (you should see my garden, looks like the weeds are about to take over my house), but we had been asked to go to this car show by the Porche Car Club of America (Illinois chapter) as Larkin Center has been identified as their charity this year. This is the 2nd one we have been to and I'll admit, it's been nice. The previous show was just for Porche's and this one had all kinds of cars. My mother had one just like this only it was gold and, well, honestly, it hardly ever ran well. I tell you I'd have taken any one of these cars. It sure felt like we were hobnobbing with the upper crust - don't you know. One day we went out in mom's Porche to my grandparent's house in Indiana and Mom drove, with my sister or I trading spots sitting with the gear-shift between our legs and then the other one sitting in in the passenger seat - let me tell you, when the semi trucks drove by us it sure seemed like the truck was just going to just drive over us. It was a great car though. If only I could win the big big big lottery, I'd be buying one of these cars! For more go to the photos.
Hope you are all well.
My wishes to the family of Mike Fawell of Virginia. A nationally ranked cyclist, he was killed when his bike ran in to a truck. Not only was his family devastated so was the driver of the truck. Two babies now don't have their father, his parents have lost their son, siblings have lost their brother, and a loving wife has lost her partner. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/mikefawell
